Counseling FAQ

  • I work adults only; trauma survivors; partners of sex addicts; individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, codependency, poor boundaries, etc.

    I do not work with minors (under 18), couples, or families.

  • Individual counseling appointments are $150 for a 50 minute session. Once you schedule your initial appointment, an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to access your secure client portal where you will need to log in and complete/sign documents before we meet.

  • No, I do not accept any type of insurance. However, I can provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement. If you wish to submit the superbill to your insurance company, I suggest that you contact them first to verify insurance benefits and their reimbursement policy. I do not work directly with insurance companies on behalf of clients.

    ~ All appointments are self-pay

    ~ Payments are expected at time service is rendered

    ~ Cash, check ($30 returned check fee), and debit/credit cards are accepted

  • If you were referred to me by Lyra, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), through your employer, the total fees for all sessions will be covered by them. I personally do not work with insurance companies, but Lyra does so they will handle all insurance payments. However, if you do not attend your appointment or you cancel with less than a 24 hour notice and your employer through Lyra (the EAP) does not reimburse me for the missed appointment, you will be responsible for the full fee of the session and you will not be able to schedule another appointment until the no-show/late fee is paid in full.”

  • No, I do not charge more for the initial session. All sessions are the same fee.

  • No, I do not complete documentation for:

    ~ short-term or long-term disability

    ~ SSI

    ~ Emotional Support Animals

    ~ Service Animals

    ~ FMLA

    ~ legal issues

  • I do not conduct:

    ~ psychological assessments

    ~ psychiatric assessments

    ~ ADHD assessments

    ~ Autism assessments

  • The first assessment session will provide you with the opportunity to share why you are seeking therapy, what your current challenges are, and your goals for therapy. There will be therapy-directed questions, resources discussed, and a referral will be given if I feel that a different level of care or type of support would be best for you depending upon where you are in your healing journey.

  • Every client’s therapy process is unique. Some clients choose to meet weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Some client meet a few times while others continue to work with the therapist for longer periods of time. We will work together to help decide what is best for your specific needs.

Once your first session is scheduled, you will be sent an email with a link to the client portal where you will be able to complete and sign documents.
